Why check?

Fake wallet apps and look-alike download sites are the most common way people lose coins: in 2026 researchers found 26 fake wallet apps on Apple's App Store, and a fake “Sparrow” iPhone app took about $1.8M. A matching SHA-256 hash proves the file is byte-for-byte the one the developers published. A signature check goes further and proves the hash list itself came from the developer.

What “Signature checked by LessKYC” means

Our server downloaded the project's signed hash list, verified its PGP signature against the developer's published key, and compared the key fingerprint with the one we expect. For other wallets we show the hashes the project publishes with its release; verify their signature yourself if you can — each project's download page explains how.

Verify it yourself

  1. Download the wallet and its signature/hash file from the official page only.
  2. Get the developer's PGP key from their website or repository and check its fingerprint.
  3. Run gpg --verify on the signature, then compare the hash: sha256sum FILE (Linux), shasum -a 256 FILE (macOS), certutil -hashfile FILE SHA256 (Windows).
